A message from James Baldwin Art Teacher, Mr. Barber

Our students come from many places and many backgrounds. They are truly what make our culture the rich experience it is. As their neighborhood is rapidly changing, it is more important than ever to make sure their presence in the community is seen by the community itself. Our theme for the art department this year is social justice, influenced by Rich Alapack’s movement, We All Live Here.

Our goal for this theme is to have as much student work as possible be exhibited in spaces around the community. We want to make our students, their ideas and identities known to the community, and to invite our neighbors into our home at James Baldwin.
